My wife and I purchased the property in 2004 and have owned, maintained, and rented it out since. We chose a traditional` property over a flat because we considered the easily-maintained private garden space to be one of several significant advantages. Its strategic position, with most business, leisure, and transport facilities within easy walking distance, is a huge benefit, and we never had a problem letting it at market rate.
Our first tenants were a couple whose child attended the junior school on the same road. When they moved on, we quickly acquired a tenant who stayed with us right up until October 2024 and would, we understand, have remained had we not decided to sell. If we were setting out now to purchase for rental or to live in ourselves we would certainly be seeking a property such as this.
